SUMER


Sumer may be the first civilization in this world,
first appearing in Southern Mesopotamia between the Tigris and Euphrates
rivers around 4,000 BCE, in the area now known as Iraq
and also included parts of Syria and Turkey.
The Sumerians called themselves Sag-gi-ga, "The Black Headed Ones"
After their civilization was already a thousand years old
( around 2,300 BCE) there is written accounts of creation,
paradise and a flood that destroyed the world.
